Fike is an Indonesian living in Tangerang, Indonesia. She’s been working remotely for almost 3 years, 2 years as a freelancer and 1 year as a marketer in Saturday Drive (Ninja Forms and Caldera Forms).
Q. How did you come into your current field? Share a bit of the background?
Ans:When I freelanced on Upwork right out of college, I started out as a virtual assistant. I did things like processing orders on e-commerce sites, translating from English to Indonesian, and managing content on a website. Then I fell in love with content marketing, because I’ve always loved reading and writing since I was a kid. Now that I know I’m able to do the things that I love while making a living out of it, I decided to pursue my career in content marketing.
Q. What’s the most interesting project you have done to date in WordPress?
Ans:I don’t really code so I don’t develop things in WordPress. But in terms of project, maybe creating my personal website and working for a WordPress company. I spend most of my time in the Posts menu on WordPress. but Creating landing pages for Caldera Forms was one of the most interesting project that i have done to date.
Q. Have you ever been to any WordPress meetups or WordCamps? If yes did you learn anything useful?
Ans:Yes, I’ve been to WordCamp Jakarta 2019. I met so many interesting people, got introduced to the WordPress community in Indonesia. It’s wonderful. In January 2020, I also got to be a speaker at the Jakarta meetup.
Q. What does your workstation look like?
Q. What kind of tools/software do you currently use for your creations?
Ans:I use Canva, Google Suite, Grammarly, Basecamp, WordPress, Notion, ActiveCampaign.
Q. What interesting feature do you think you would like to see in WordPress and is currently missing?
Ans:I think the existing plugins in the repository are enough for now.
Q. Out of the current plugins and themes which one do you like the most and why?
Ans: Yoast SEO, because it’s so helpful plus the Twenty Nineteen theme!
Q. Which WordPress hosting do you use and would you recommend for your clients and others?
Ans:I use Hawk Host.
Q. Do you like/love what you currently do in WordPress?
Ans:Yes! I love doing my job.
Q. What would you like to do in the future in the current field or somewhere else?
Ans:I’d like to lead a team and/or build a content agency.
