Thank you for your reply. I have read that document thoroughly over the past two days and kind find no remedy within it for foreign characters appearing as in the mobile browser as is the case now. Can you point me to something specific that you see in that document, that I don’t see, that will help me?
I used the existing code you provided in Theme Options –> Header –> “Header Top Phone and Email” and “Add here Social icon for header top” areas, only modifying it for my needs and details.

[/social_area]Ahh, thank you. That worked well. I have another problem. If you refer to the same screenshot, you’ll see at top center of the header a foreign language character appears where a Facebook icon should be. Also, below there, next to the phone number, and next to the email address, foreign characters appear where corresponding phone and email icons should be. How can I correct this? This behavior occurs only when viewed in mobile browsers and not when viewed in a desktop browser, even when I resize the desktop browser to the dimensions of a phone.
