Hello!
I new to WordPress so dont blame me if I ask you something simple. 🙂

1. I try to make a Pest Control services site. We want to show some services we have and some areas we cover in Athens.
Shall I use Pages or Posts ? I dont understand the difference. So far I have made pages only. Is that correct?
2. I made a page called “Areas we cover” as parent and underneath I made 2 pages with 2 areas as sample. When I add Areas we cover to menu, it is not a drop down list. How do I fix this?
3. I also like your footer I see now below. MENU CATEGORIES RECENT POST SEARCH FOLLOW US.
How can I add this to my site? Is “Categories” a category of Posts? And are Author, Automotive, Bakery etc. “Posts” or “Pages”?

Hi,

1. Kindly use pages to show the services and in menu navigation you can use sub pages under the main services section.
Posts are mainly for timed things like press releases, blog posts, news etc.

2. Appearance>menus>create menu and add them and select checkbox underneath primary menu.

4. yes categories is category of posts.

2. You mean I should make a new Menu with name Areas we Cover right?
But I cant find checkbox underneath primary menu.
I see only these:

Menu Settings
Auto add pages
Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu

Display location
Header Navigation (Currently set to: Menu)
Footer Navigation

1 more question.
As far as I am not using posts, how can I hide Categories? Each time I click on page there is Categories on right side.
I think I would like to add a Custome Menu instead with sitemap or something. How can I do that.

5. Under Font Typography I can change font for H1, but text is always in capital. How do I change that? thanks

Hi,

Kindly go to Appearance » Widgets » Page Sidebar and remove Categories widget.

To show a custom menu in page sidebar kindly go to Appearance » Menus, create a menu, add items and save it. After that go back to Appearance » Widgets » Page Sidebar, drag drop a Custom Menu widget, select that newly created menu and save it, you can also select an existing menu.
