What we are trying to achieve is to use png files instead of icon, and the code won’t let us. I tried several different ways.
Also if in this section we can’t use pngs, would we be able to use newer font awesome icons, such as chess figureins. when we insert the name for the icon: “chess-board” nothing appears there.

So kindly use icons listed on this website and they should work fine.

Hello, they just don’t work. I have tried inserting them by name and by using code and unicode.
Then in the section the icon just doesn’t show.

This is how it looks after adding chess icon to the shortcode.
We ideally would like to use their logo pngs. Is it possible?

May be the theme needs updated font awesome icon set.

The fa prefix has been deprecated in version 5. The new default is the fas solid style and the fab style for brands.
