Today we are going to conduct the interview of Peter Nilsson from Sweden. He is a Founder of WP Webify, WP Newsify, WP Pluginsify & WP Daily Themes. He just loves to write about WordPress. In the interview, he mentioned that for over 12 years he is been working with WordPress.

As a beginner, I tried to learn the essentials of HTML and CSS-based sites, and before I discovered WordPress, I had a couple of Blogger sites and HTML sites. I remember it was some personal blogs and some link directories sites.

However, no major success with these sites. But trial and error have always been my learning method from the very beginning.

Furthermore, I can easily divide my attempts to succeed before and after I discovered WordPress. With WordPress, I found a great and flexible tool to create more than I have achieved before. A new world opened up for me.

Q. How did you get to know about WordPress? Share if there is an interesting story.

Ans: I stumbled upon WordPress back in 2008. At the time, I was using Google Blogger, and when I installed my first WordPress website. Very soon it felt pretty pointless keeping up with Blogger. When I installed WordPress for the first time, WordPress 2.7 “Coltrane,” a new world suddenly opened up.

Although WordPress at that time was relatively primitive compared to how WordPress is today, I liked WordPress directly and what opportunities suddenly became available.

Furthermore, – I have continued to use and worked with WordPress for over 12 years. WordPress is now the most used and popular CMS in the world, without a doubt. So I’m glad I happened to stumble across WordPress back in these days.

Q. What’s the most interesting project you have done to date in WordPress? What were your responsibilities?

Ans: I have been involved in various projects, both locally and worldwide. However, my projects with setting up and launching my websites are what I find most exciting.

I have set up a lot with WordPress websites, but some of the sites I have been most involved in and most proud of are WP Newsify, WP Pluginsify, WP Daily Themes, and my new site, WP Webify (https://www.wpwebify.com/).

Lots of hard work have been required to make the sites successful. But what a feeling it is when it succeeds. That feeling is hard to compare with anything else. But as I said many times before. Giving up does not exist in my world. It’s just to roll up your sleeves and keep working. No matter what. Sooner or later, you make it.

Q. Have you ever been to any WordPress meetups or WordCamps? Share your thoughts on WordPress Community.

Ans: Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to participate in any of the WordPress meetups or WordCamps.

Hopefully, I will join to some meeting in the future that takes place near where I live. It is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people and check out news from the WordPress community. So I’m looking forward to attending someday

Q. How does your workstation look like? Can you send us a picture?

Ans: I have a home office with an HP desktop, Windows 7, 64 bit, and 2 AOC screens. An HP laptop and an iPad.

Q. What interesting feature do you think you would like to see in WordPress and is currently missing?

Ans: Already 4-5 years ago, I called out for a page-builder-feature in WordPress to add further flexibility.

As we have seen, Gutenberg’s implementation came with a renewal in the right direction, although some criticism was directed at Gutenberg.

However, if Gutenberg can be further developed (it is), and hopefully, we can see even more flexibility for both WordPress newbies and more advanced users in the future. But it doesn’t feel like we’re right there yet.

Q. Out of the current plugins and themes which one do you like the most and why?

Ans: It was a difficult question to answer.

Not easy to pick just one. There are so many great themes and plugins to choose from. However, if I have to choose any of the many themes and plugins, it will be as follows.

WordPress Theme: Veen is a great premium theme I am using at my new site, WP Webify. It is optimized for speed, has excellent flexibility, and beautiful design.

It is one of the best themes I have used, and I have used many WordPress themes during my career. Veen has all the features you need to create an attractive and speedy website.

WordPress Plugin: Rank Math is my first choice because it is essential to rank high in search engines, and this plugin is a perfect option to boost your SEO strategy.

Q. Any awesome technology you want to share other than WordPress?

Ans: Since I am not a web designer but an entrepreneur and blogger, it is mostly blogging related tools. I often use these tools to test themes, plugins and create articles that hopefully stand out:

Google Docs, Grammarly, SandboxCMS, Pixlr, Canva, Headline Analyzer From CoSchedule, Fireshot, Awesome Screenshot, Title Case Converter, SEMScoop, and Buffer.

Q. Do you like/love what you currently do in WordPress?

Ans: Absolutely, I am thrilled with my role, and my current sites are doing great. Above all, my new website WP Webify has taken off.

Since I sold my other sites WP Newsify and WP Pluginsify, most of my time lately has been spent working more with WP Webify to make it better and rank higher, and I see the result of all the work now.

However, there are always new ideas popping up and more stuff I want to do. But it feels like time is not enough. However, it is crucial to have goals and visions to work towards and try to achieve. Otherwise, you will never succeed.

Q. Where do you find yourself after 5 years

Ans: I’m sure that I’m still setting up new websites in five years, working with WordPress, blogging, and writing articles. That’s what I do, like, and I do not want to trade that job for anything else.

Q. Share something about your life other than work

Ans: When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my family. We live in Sweden, but we love to travel around the world. Our second home is in Thailand, where we try to spend as much time as possible.

Furthermore, I am an outdoor guy, and you usually find me out in nature, walking, running, skiing, canoeing, and other fun outdoor activities.

Q. To whom you give credit for your success?

Ans: It isn’t easy to define any person. Like so many others in the industry, I am self-taught when it comes to WordPress. I have worked hard for many years with my websites to succeed.

Furthermore, the WordPress community is incredible, and I have many online friends worldwide that I have been inspired by and worked successfully on various projects.

Some of my inspiration sources are the guys from WebFactory Ltd that I have worked closely with for several years.

Q. Can you give us some reference for whom we should conduct an interview next and why?

Ans: It would be great to interview Gordan Orlic, an entrepreneur and founder of WebFactory Ltd.

Q. How do you reward yourself?

Ans: I’m a tech nerd and a traveler, so if I reward myself, it will be a new tech gadget or a trip somewhere.

Q. Any suggestion for WordPress beginners?

Ans: It is always tricky when you are a beginner, regardless of industry or job. But one piece of advice is never to give up. Irrespective of whether it feels tough sometimes, learn from your mistakes.

Roll up your sleeves and keep on working. Nothing happens overnight when it comes to a new website. Be patient, work hard and never give up.
