    Is there a way to have the slider set only to the homepage and not appear on any other pages?

    Yes can be done. Kindly go to Settings>Readings>Select Your latest posts and save (this will show homepage sections) And then go to Appearance>Theme Options>Homepage Slider and select Hide slider from inner pages.
