Columns and Shortcodes

Trying to 2 columns to a full width page using these codes:
[column_content type=”one_half”]
Column 1 Content goes here…
[/column_content]

[column_content type=”one_half_last”]
Column 2 Content goes here…
[/column_content]

It’s not turning it into columns but is also putting in a very odd transparent bar.

Can you help?
