Hi,
I don’t think I explained myself well enough… what I’d like to do is create a two-line tag line that says:
First line: October 19, 20, & 21, 2018 | Cal Expo
Second Line: Friday 10-9 • Saturday 10-8 • Sunday 10-6

I resized the font already in the custom CSS. Normally, I would create a child theme and manually force the tagline to do what I want. But the header.php is not the normal set up I’m use to and I don’t want to ‘break’ the theme.

I am using ShopZee. I have made a child theme. In the ShopZee Pro the Category drop down works but in the child theme although you can see the categories, nothing happens when they are clicked. I would like to know how to fix this asap because I am on a time crunch to get this fixed.

No need to create a child theme use the custom CSS box in appearance>customize>basic settings to have your custom CSS posted.

I was trying to create a child theme using a plugin and this what I was informed before I proceeded.

I didn’t activate it because I’m worried it will create a fatal error in the website itself.

Can this be resolved? Any recommendation?

Hi, having problems getting a clients instagram embed code to work. I’m adding the code to the theme options/footer dedicated field but not getting the correct preview, see: https://coastal-wedding-event-hire.co.uk/wordpress/childrens-packages/ or any other page except https://coastal-wedding-event-hire.co.uk/wordpress/contact/ where I also added the feed to the body of the page. it then works fine in the page and in the footer

Thanks for getting back to me.

On the home page of the political theme there is a section called Campaign Issues featuring 8 content boxes. They are laid out in two sets of four. I only require 6 boxes and wanted them laid out in two sets of three.

I have been able to achieve this now by creating a child theme and overriding the css class ‘fourbox’

When will the default slider be moved from posts page? I am still awaiting assistance in resolving this issue. It appears that the problem I’m having with properly setting the static posts page and homepage in this thread, and here, is because your theme was not designed with a front-page.php file or a the necessary template for the blog page to become a static posts page. So since you referenced my child theme, it adapts templates from the parent file. So, if these missing templates are added to the parent theme they would work with the child theme by default because I would have no reason to edit them unless they are poorly designed and problem causing. So when will I receive help? I started these threads a week ago and I’m still waiting.

You can make changes to your original theme by updating it. I do not need you to edit anything pertaining to my child theme you tried it and ruined my website. I am not interested in doing another backup restore or redoing things that have already been done. Honestly, I do not understand why you would design a theme that does not allow a front or blog posts page selection when every other WordPress theme that I’ve worked with does.

Well, you forced me to pay for support on something that should work with your theme by default so, I expect results or a refund. No, do not touch my child theme. Your theme has not been updated since I purchased it so I think starting there would be a good idea. Can you run your tests on the files and your theme outside of my website to see if you can get it working?

We can make changes to the child theme however we cannot make changes to the original theme and even if we do make those changes it won’t reflect on your website because you have the child theme activated.

So for us to make changes here we need to make changes to your theme and not the original one.

Even if we make changes to the original one it won’t pick up because child theme is activated.

Hi,

I did some experiment. I made a child theme with only the CSS code where text-transform:uppercase was and changed to ‘none’. The line that changes my Send button is:

#reservation_form input[type=submit], .wpcf7 form input[type="submit"] {
    text-transform: none;
}

However when I put it in custom CSS then it don’t work. When in child theme it works.

So I made child theme with the changes from uppercase to none and all seems to work normal. So this issue is resolved.

Could it help if I email you my child theme? It is only 60 lines of code.

Evidently, the following in style_core.css is causing problems with a custom slider plugin I have installed.

transition: all 0.4s ease-in-out 0s;
}

I would like to remove the transition line entirely. How can I do this without editing the style_core.css file?

I already have a child theme set up, but when I tried to override the style in style.css in my child theme, there was no effect.
