    I am using the Simple Theme and on the front page I only want to display certain category recent posts but not all categories. I’ve tried several shortcode options but nothing is working. http://www.mycountryshowdown.com

    Kindly use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/list-category-posts/ to display posts of a particular category on homepage or on any other page.
