The words ‘no comments’ appears even though I enabled comments? How can I change this to ‘please leave a reply’ and edit the the page that appears. Can only find instructions to remove comments in manual.
    thanks

alternatively if I can find the php page all one needs is an IF statement. i.e. IF no of comments =0 , then display ‘please leave a message’

    Hi,

Kindly add this plugin: “disable comments” in your WordPress admin to get rid of commenting feature.

    Regards,
    Shri

    Shri
    I WANT COMMENTS!!!
The display ‘no comments’ is misread as ‘no comments wanted’ or ‘do not comment’.
I can’t find the page where the code is so that the line could be changed. I would create ‘child page’ and amend it and use that page. From WordPress Codex I can see the script and it relates to the number of comments such that if the number is zero it outputs ‘no comments’ which should be a reference to the number of comments but is easily misunderstood.
    regards
    Dapo

    Hi Dapo,

This is an old tutorial but check the code in comments.php for no comments and you can change the text. Kindly take a backup via FTP before editing the file.

Hope this is the answer you wanted from my end.

    Regards,
    Shri
