Menu colour when item selected

Hi,

I have a menu that displays correctly when the mouse is hovered

but once an item on the menu is clicked, all of the sub-items change to the same background & text colour making them invisible (they do show up if you then hover but you would need to know to do that).

I just want to change the colour of either the background or the text so that it can be seen but for the life of me can’t find where to do it.

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

Kindly go to Appearance >> Customize >> Basic >> Scroll down to find Custom CSS and paste there:

#topmenu ul.sub-menu li a:hover, #topmenu ul.children li a:hover, #topmenu li.menu_highlight_slim:hover, #topmenu ul.sub-menu li.current_page_item a, #topmenu ul.children li.current_page_item a, #topmenu ul.sub-menu li.current-menu-item, #topmenu ul.children li.current-menu-item a { background:#282828 !important;}

Done but still the same. The issue isn’t when you hover, it’s after a menu item has been selected, the sub menu items are no longer visible.

So if you go to the top menu, under shop click ‘Army’. Now when you hover over Army the sub menu appears to the right but it’s black text on a black background so you don’t see it (and my customers don’t realise it is there). If you hover over the sub menu then orange text appears on the black background so it is visible.

I would like to change the colour of the text or background so that it is visible.
