    Hi,

We have discovered a problem with the integration of Contact form 7 and Google Recaptcha in many of the web pages that we manage.

For this reason we have decided to stop using Google Recaptcha and instead use Contact Form 7 honeypot.

But when trying to eliminate the integration (Delete the keys) from the Recaptcha module of Contact form 7, it gives us an error:”The link you followed has expired.”

After doing many tests we have verified that this error only happens with SKT themes, but with other themes we can eliminate the integration without problem.

If we remove the recaptcha module from Contact Form, when updating the plugin with a new update, the module is recreated.

As we have already explained, we must eliminate integration in a large number of web pages. How can we solve this problem?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Best regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi Brad,

This issue occurs in many of the web pages that we manage. For example in:
    www.mobles-vilanova.com
    www.everest-costabrava.net
    www.cuinatscarrermajor.com
    www.catcontrolgeneraliti.com
    www.agrifoodporttarragona.com
    www.dentalinfo.info
    …and many ohters.

If we try to remove the form 7 contact integration with google recaptcha (Deleting the keys) from the Recaptcha module of Contact form 7, it gives us an error:”The link you followed has expired.”

We believe that it is a problem of compatibility with the themes, because with some themes we have been able to eliminate the integration without problem and with others, instead, it does not work.

    Regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi,

To remove this plugin kindly use the file mangaer plugin, and delet this plugin to a plugin folder.

    Hi Brad,

We don’t want to remove the plugin in its entirety. We just want to remove the integration of this plugin with Google Recapcha.

To eliminate this integration we do it at: Contact> Integration with Other Services> setup integration
And then click on “Remove keys” to disable Google Recaptcha.

The problem is that we get the error: “The link you followed has expired.”

This problem only happens to us with some of the SKT themes. We have successfully removed integration on various web pages with other themes.

Is it a theme incompatibility problem? We need to remove the integration, as we want to remove Google Recaptcha and replace it with honeypot.

If we remove the recaptcha module from contact form, when the Contact Form 7 plugin is updated, the module is reenabled and Google Recaptcha is activated again, so this solution is not viable.

We need to find a solution quickly, since we must make the modification on many web pages as soon as possible since until we make the change, messages cannot be sent through the forms.

    Regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi Brad,

Thanks. We know the procedure to remove the Google Recaptcha integration.

When we perform the process and try to delete the keys, an error occurs: “The link you followed has expired.”

This error only happens to us on some websites that use SKT themes. So we believe that it may be a problem of the theme.

So that you can verify it yourself and check the problem and a solution, we have sent you the access data to one of the web pages where this problem occurs.

Please log in and try to remove the integration between Contact Form 7 and Google Recaptcha.

    Many thanks!

    Regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi,

I think I didn’t explain myself well enough. We don’t want to remove the Google recaptcha badge. What we want is to stop using Google Recaptcha on all web pages, and instead use the Contact form 7 honeypot plugin.

In order to “disconnect” the web page from Google Recaptcha, it is necessary to remove the integration through the Google Recaptcha module of Contact form 7.

To eliminate this integration we do it at: Contact> Integration with Other Services> setup integration
And then click on “Remove keys” to disable Google Recaptcha.

When we perform the process and try to delete the keys, an error occurs: “The link you followed has expired.”

In web pages that use non-SKT themes we can eliminate this integration without error, but in web pages with SKT themes an error occurs and we cannot complete the process.

If we access via ftp and delete the folder that contains the Google recaptcha module inside the contact form 7 plugin folder, we can eliminate the integration. But updating the contact form 7 plugin recreates the Google Recaptcha module folder and we would have to delete it again after each update.

    Any solution for this problem?

    Best regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi Brad,

I just reviewed the website and have verified that the Google Recaptcha integration is still active.

    https://i.imgur.com/f6q1vgi.jpg

We want to remove Google Recaptcha and replace it with a plugin (honeypot for contact form 7)

We are trying to disable this integration. To eliminate this integration we do it at: Contact> Integration with Other Services> setup integration
And then click on “Remove keys” to disable Google Recaptcha.

When we perform the process and try to delete the keys, an error occurs: “The link you followed has expired.”
This is the problem that we need to correct. The error prevents us from deleting the Google Recaptcha keys.

This error occurs in many of the websites that use SKT themes. For that we want you to tell us how to solve it.

    Regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi,

    Any solution for this problem?

Please, we are looking forward to solving it. Google Captcha is giving us a lot of trouble when sending forms and we want to eliminate it and use honeypot as an alternative.

When we try to delete the Google Recaptcha keys an error occurs: “The link you followed has expired.”. The error prevents us from deleting the Google Recaptcha keys.

On websites that use non-SKT themes we can delete the keys without any problem and the error does not occur. It is only on websites with SKT themes that we have this problem. That is why we insist that you review it, to try to solve it as quickly as possible.

    Thank you very much!

    Best regards,
    Vanessa

    Hi,

We need time to look into this issue, for an instant solution we advice you to install and activate Twenty Nineteen theme and eliminate the integration of Google reCAPTCHA then activate your current theme.

    Regards,
    Brad

    Hi Brad,

Good idea. This solution had not occurred to us. It seems perfect to us. We will activate the Twenty Nineteen theme, we will remove google recaptcha and we will activate the original theme again.

    Thank you very much!!

    Best regards,
    Vanessa
