I’m using the bakery pro theme and it has a lot of different sections on the homepage which I’m not using. I clicked onto hiding section, now I’m just wondering if all the CSS and pictures in the hidden sections affect my site speed? I also don’t want certain widgets in the footer, if I don’t place my own ones in, your defaults like the latest posts keep showing. I have deleted all the pre-installed footer content under Theme Options, yet it keeps showing unless I override it with another widget. I want to clamp down on all those widgets to speed up the site. Analytic tools keep showing blind texts and images from the hidden sections as well, so I assume that it affects my site speed negatively, doesn’t it? The website is (the healthy tart.com)
A content without images even if hidden causes 1/100th of a second to load. Plus if its hidden using CSS it doesn’t load as well so it won’t affect site speed.
