Creating link for phone number in header

I’m working on the movers and packers theme and I’m trying to make the phone number in the header clickable so when you click it you can call the number. For some reason the HTML code for this isn’t working in the link section. This is for the image and phone number header button text
805.349.2201

I tried adding the code <a/> in the header button link line but it’s not making it clickable or making a link. I added this line of code in the front of the line of header button text and that seemed to almost work better but still didn’t solve the issue.
