I changed some of the footer widgets to be arbitrary text/title instead of menu navigation and latest posts. The texts consist of a couple of paragraphs, and I want to truncate it with a Read more button, how can I achieve this? Basically I want the text truncated, and once “Read More” button is pushed, the remaining text is revealed.

For footer try to find some widget which allows excerpt.

What do I need to do to allow images uploaded to have a transparent background instead of white?

How do I select different fonts for the main pages and the footer? When I choose a font and size for body text, it uses that font and size for the footer, which I don’t want it to do.

You can add your custom css in Appearance>>Theme Option>>Basic Setting>>Custom CSS Box

My next question is how do I remove the white background on transparent images that I have uploaded. The image is png image composed of outline of an object with a transparent background, but this theme is giving it a white background. On the home page.
