    how can i make the dark transparent area at the top more slim? less thick

    Kindly go to Appearance>Theme Options>Basic Settings>Custom CSS box:
    Add this css code in custom css box

    .header{padding:0 !important;}
    .header .header-inner .nav ul li a {padding:5px 0 30px !important;}
