Military Theme, Section Customization

There are sections on the home page that I would like to customize but the only option is to select a page. How do I maintain the icons and layout of the first two sections under the slider without having to re-create them.

On the Section 2, seems like there should be an option to select 3 pages, one for each of the categories, but there is only one page selection option. How do I add three page blurbs along with the icon and the “read more?”

Please advise how I can get the same look as on the sample.
