Girly latest news and footer

I have installed the Girly theme, but the latest news and the footer don’t show on the frontside of the website, only a white border on the bottom. The footer does show on the pages, but not on the home. Have downloaded the latest version and I didn’t change anything in the sections, only hide the shop. What goes wrong?

Is it possible to make the white header on top a bit smaller so that the slider image goes a bit up. But not making the logo smaller. Only the white space above the logo a bit smaller?

Kindly go to Appearance>>Theme Option>>Basic Setting>>Custom CSS Box

Add this code there:

.header{padding:0 0 10px !important;}
