    I disabled the slider, saved. Then changed my mind and re-enabled. but it won’t come back.

    Appearance>customize>go to slider change the title, description by adding spaces. remove the images and add them again and save and publish.

    Should come back.

    Check for cache plugins as well if you have installed clear cache.

    By the way go to settings>readings>select your latest posts.
