Featured image won’t save as thumbnail

I posted about this 2 weeks ago and got no response, still having same issue. Every time I try to edit the size of an image or change it to be a thumbnail or anything, it won’t let me save it. The save button just stays gray except for when I crop the image and press the crop button again but that’s the only way it will let me edit the image. It also lets me scale the image down but it won’t save as a thumbnail. I noticed this is a common issue but couldn’t find an answer that worked.
