    I have used the follow code to remove the slider and reduce the header height.
    .slider-main{display:none;}
    .innerbanner{display:none;}
    .home section#pagearea{padding-bottom: 20px;}
    .header{position:relative !important;}
    .content-area {padding:10px 0 !important;}

    .header { padding-top:10px;}
    .header_row { width:70%;}
    .header_row .column-1 { width:30%;}
    .column-1.column-2 { width:40%;}

    When you open the page you have to scroll down before seeing the next section, as in there is a blank space.

    How can I stop the bank space appearng ?
